ESCAPE WITH INTENTION
In 2018, Millennials and Gen Z's are all about trimming the fat and excess of their lives. It's not always about opulence when traveling, sometimes it's about looking outside of yourself.
I love to travel the world. I love to explore all kinds of different and beautiful resorts and cities. But whenever I go anywhere, no matter how luxurious where I’m staying is, I always want to go to the heart of a community. I make sure that I leave a positive imprint.
There are so many ways to travel the world and experience the culture of locals. But the most fulfilling aspect of travel, is getting involved or helping those around you. With that mentality, you're doing something to leave the environment better than you found it.
PENCILS OF PROMISE - In 2016, my 18-year-old son and I went on Pencils of Promise, to assist with the building of schools and to visit the various committees that Pencils was impacting. Thankfully, there are thousands of organizations and travel planners who can find the right philanthropic organization for you and help coordinate a trip (for you and your loved ones), to really dig deep and spend some quality volunteer time.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITIES - Build one house or many houses at a time, advocating for policy while building, disaster recovery, minor and major home repairs, energy efficiency projects, working with vulnerable populations like children or the disabled, and also trips just for women.
